Introduction
3D Girls, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to providing many opportunities for connection and growth for young girls. They do a good job of conveying this through their website and several social media sites, however some aspects of their presentation and outwardly appearance to potential donors and volunteers could be improved somewhat.
Generally, their website does a good job of being a everything a standard Nonprofit organization would need for basic promotional and organizational purposes at a base level. However, there are certain aspects of it that could be improved to further improve their outreach to people. Presented below are several artifacts that serve to highlight some aspects of their branding and presentation that could be changed, compiled by our team.
To expand upon the artifacts presented, we decided to focus specifically on redesigning the logo for one of their major events, creating new flyers for some of their events, redesigning their volunteer outreach materials in some respects, and other supplemental forms of redesigning to help them better rebrand themselves to reach a wider audience. We look more into the specifics of design and wording rather than the simple outline since much of their general website and social media outline serves its purpose rather well.
Case Study – Basic Suggestions
Next Steps
Overall, 3D Girls, Inc. does a good job of presenting itself to newcomers and visitors to their site. Their website is neatly organized with useful information available to potential donors and volunteers, and they consistently post about their events and activities on their various social media blogs. However, there are certain things pertaining to their outwardly presentation and branding that could be changed to suit the nature of their programs better. While the website it serves its intended purpose rather well and serves as a very apt and descriptive catalog for all of the Nonprofit’s activities and events, there were some organizational elements that could be better improved to improve the user experience upon entering their site, as well as re-organized to convey information in a manner that makes more categorical sense.
There are several things that we propose in order to help rebrand 3D Girls, Inc. First off, we propose a few changes to the logo for one of their major events, Girls Link Up. The initial presentation for the event hadn’t been anything that stood out too much from the rest of their events and given it was a camp that was hosted for a longer period of time, a new logo design was in order. Nia had designed a logo that better captures the scale of the event, and logos of similar style would certainly help with promotion for larger-scale events.
Another thing we chose to focus on was flyer redesign to better promote their smaller-scale events. These flyers were intended to be utilized through both website posts as well as social media posts, however many of them could serve better as simple social media posts showcasing the basic information pertaining to the event without overburdening the reader to the point of disinterest. The flyers were primarily redesigned by Jasmin, Becky, and Olivia.
Finally, some basic changes to the Events page on their website was considered, along with the addition of a newsletter that would be primarily catered towards donors that would provide an incentive for people to donate to their cause. With these simple changes, we believe that 3D Girls, Inc. can elevate its outreach to the next level, to continue to inspire and empower young girls more potently and effectively.
